Sterling ProConnect Voltage Sensing Relay:
This solid state voltage sensitive relay (VSR) will connect two
batteries together for charging whenever the voltage on one of the banks rises
above the VSR's preset level. The combine voltage, which is programmable between 12.8 and 13.8
volts, can be user defined. The ProConnect VSR's are bi-directional, and will activate when either
battery is charging. You can also set the ProConnect for single bank excite sensing. In other words the ProConnect can be set to be either
bi-direction or uni-directional. There is
also an optional ignition trigger, which only allows the VSR to activate
when the engine is running. The switch can be any type of switch and does not need to be only an ignition switch.
Since the ProConnect is solid state, resting current is only 1mA, and only slightly more than that when activated.
ProConnect VSR Typical Operation:
The VSR's parallel charging is activated by either the start or house battery as voltage increase from any charge source. The 2nd battery bank, once connected in parallel to the bank being charged, will disconnect or isolate the banks when the banks drop below 13.0V. The ProConnect is very simple in operation, it parallels/combines the banks when a bank is being charged and isolates the banks when no charging is occurring.Voltage parameter Adjustments:
Voltage activation
and deactivation parameters can be adjusted using the setup command. The ProConenct works with either 12V or 24V banks and will auto select the system voltage
using the following;
